Ras Abrouq desert activation concludes with over 55,000 visitors

Doha, Qatar: Visit Qatar announces the success of its desert activation at Ras Abrouq, which welcomed more than 55,000 visitors over the past 60 days. The event, which ran from December 18, 2024, to February 15, 2025, was an immersive celebration of adventure, relaxation, and cultural experiences, set against the iconic backdrop of the UNESCO-protected Al-Reem Biosphere Reserve in north-west Qatar.

The Visit Qatar activation at Ras Abrouq featured an array of activities designed for the whole family to enjoy. Visitors were treated to 29 performances, including illusionist shows, mystic storytelling, and cultural dances. In addition, 17 interactive workshops provided visitors with immersive, hands-on learning opportunities. The activation also included nine activities, guests could explore everything from camel and horse rides to archery, stargazing, and hot air balloon rides. 

Commenting on the success of the activation, Eng. Ahmed Hamad Al Binali, Director of Festivals and Events at Visit Qatar, said: “We are delighted by the incredible response to this unique desert experience. Promoting Qatar’s rich historical, recreational, and archaeological sites through diverse events not only enhances our cultural offerings but also contributes to the economy by attracting international visitors. Ras Abrouq has proven to be an exceptional destination, uniting families with the perfect mix of adventure, culture, and relaxation. This activation marks the start of even more exciting events to come in the future.” 

The Ras Abrouq desert activation featured various zones designed to offer something for everyone. The Film City zone provided family-oriented activities, while the Wildlife Park offered safari-like experiences with camel and horse routes. The Desert Escape zone hosted a range of experiences, including trampolines, acrobatic shows, and live falcon demonstrations. The Glamping Zone offered families the chance to unwind in luxury tents, with serene settings perfect for relaxation under the desert sky.

Specialised cultural installations, such as the Al Hosh majlis, and daily camel parades, allowed families to experience Qatar’s heritage while enjoying the desert landscapes. The event also featured wellness-focused offerings at Our Habitas Resort, with a range of affordable packages.
