Qatar’s Department of Meteorology has in a late evening tweet warned people not to go to sea.
“The wave is now 6-9 feet high with strong north-westerly winds exceeding 25 knots. ‼️ Please avoid all maritime activities due to the instability of the marine situation” the tweet said.
In an earlier report, the department had said of the similar situation, adding offshore will be slightly dusty at times, with “northwesterly to westerly at a speed of 12 to 22 knot gusting to 28 knot to the northeast.” The earlier report said “offshore, it will be 5 to 7 feet, rises to 8 feet to the northeast.”
Inshore tonight and until 6 am on Tuesday will be slightly dusty at places at times, the department said.
Wind inshore will see mainly northwesterly at a speed of 8 to 18 knot with gusting 21 knot at some places.
Visibility will be 4 to 8 kilometers.
Sea state inshore will be 2 to 4 feet, rises to 5 feet at times.
