Doha: Residents and visitors will be treated to a slew of activities happening all over Doha in the days leading up to the Eid festivities the following week.
The 15-day Mega Park Carnival will make its debut in the country at Al Bidda Park from Sunday, April 16 to 30. Toronto Events confirmed to The Peninsula that the non-stop entertainment and fun-filled events will begin at 6pm and wrap up at 4am throughout Ramadan.
Entry to the event is free for all and includes live music, shopping, and entertainment events. The carnival’s standout attractions are giant balloons dotted throughout Al Bidda, a gaming area, eateries, and a Mega Park Theatre hosting a variety of entertainment performances including singing and dancing. Also, the Heritage Game Area features games such as Peep, Gally, Rin, Whirlpool, and Dannah Gamerolling.
Over 100,000 people are anticipated to attend the carnival.
Meanwhile, the Lusail Winter Wonderland will return from April 21 to 28 for an exclusive Eid celebration. “Prepare yourself for unlimited fun, live entertainment, fire performances, face painting, magicians, oud players and more!,” said the organiser.
It will be open from 4pm to 11pm from Sunday to Wednesday, and 4pm to 1am from Thursday to Saturday, and is located on Al Maha Island. Tickets are already on sale, with unlimited rides costing QR150 for children and QR200 for adults. The amusement park has over 50 rides and attractions, food and drinks booths, and live entertainment.

On Wednesday, Qatar Tourism, in partnership with Qatar Airways unveiled an exciting line-up of events for Eid.
The “Feel Eid in Qatar” campaign will run from April 21 to 28 where daily fireworks display, live musical concerts, children’s show, Asian Town Sports Festival, Shaun the Sheep show, and Moscow Ballet La Classique – Sleeping Beauty, among others will take place.
Several expatriates expressed their happiness at the abundance of activities that will be happening in the next weeks. Zarmeena from Sri Lanka said it’s a delight to know that more and more events are happening even after the World Cup.
“We’ve been waiting for the Lusail Winter Wonderland, because last time we didn’t get the chance to go there, my three kids are excited as we already booked our tickets.”
Arnold, a Jordanian living in Qatar for seven years, said: “The World Cup I think is the major push for the non-stop happenings in Qatar. I’m pretty excited about the Mega Park Carnival because it will bring out the child in me, I’ll be coming with my other two friends after we break the fast on Sunday.”
A variety of events and concerts are also planned for after the Eid holidays. The Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra will resume its live concerts in May, and the 9th edition of Senyar Festival will run from May 2 to 5 which is organised by Katara aimed to revive the maritime cultural heritage of the ancestors in Qatar.
And the first K-POP music festival K-One Festa is happening on May 19 to 20, which will bring 10 K-Pop Idols in the two-day jampacked performances, including iKON, SUNMI, SF9, EVERGLOW, xikers, ATEEZ, BamBam, OH MY GIRL, P1Harmony, and DRIPPIN. The concert’s tickets, which start at QR350, are still available.
