DOHA: For 11-year-old Jana Hova, life couldn’t be simpler. The diminutive but stunningly beautiful German ‘star-in-the-making’ has no issues riding with seniors in the vaulting world.
“I have been riding since I was five,” Hova, member of the winning squad VV Koln Dunnwald, said when asked about her early days.
“I am cool,” she added when asked if she was under any pressure to get the her routines right.
What are her long-term goals? Hova was least perturbed by the seriousness of the question as she said: “I don’t know.” She added: “I guess I will continue vaulting. I am only 11 years old.”
Enjoying the one-liners from Hova were seasoned pas-de-deux partners Lukas Wacha and Jasmin Lindner who said riding was easy provided one was willing to handle the pressure at top events.
“We don’t get worried or come under pressure,” Wacha of Austria said.
“We have been training and competition for a long time so we know how to handle pressure,” he added.
“This is our first time and we want to come back to this great competition arena,” he said.
