DOHA: Qatar Airways (QA), global launch customer for A350, has deployed the world’s newest aircraft on Doha-Dubai route.
Commencing August 8, the airline is showcasing A350 on 28 of its Dubai shuttle frequencies until September 1.
Ishfaq Jalal, Acting Vice-President, GCC, Levant, Iran, Iraq and Yemen, QA, said: “The introduction of A350 aircraft to the Doha-Dubai sector, a strategic route for QA, will redefine in-flight experience for our travellers. “A350 provides passengers with an unmatched travel experience, thanks to its modern technology and spacious innovative design and features,” Jalal added.
QA introduced its first and second commercial A350 services to the German market with flights to Frankfurt in January and March.
It has also recently launched third and fourth A350 aircraft to Singapore and this month turns Singapore route into a triple daily flight with a third A350.
QA has four Airbus A350 and 76 on order, and is the only airline in the world to operate every family of Airbus’ modern airliner portfolio.
Passengers on A350 will benefit from a new boarding experience achieved by a dome-design entrance with welcome light distribution. The aircraft offers extra wide seats with generous room in all classes of service, thanks to design developments offering greater comfort to all passengers.
A350s feature 36 seats in Business Class in a 1-2-1 configuration, with  an 80-inch full flat bed and 17-inch HD in-flight entertainment screen.
The Economy Class features 247 18-inch wide seats in a 3-3-3 configuration, each with a 10.6-inch in-flight entertainment screen, and more space at shoulder level for passengers in the window seats due to the vertical side wall panel design.
A350s also feature Oryx One entertainment system, with over 2,000 options on individual screens in all classes. The jet also offers advanced air conditioning technology and LED mood lighting to enhance passenger comfort while reducing fatigue after a long flight. It will also offer in-flight Wi-Fi connectivity for passengers allowing them to surf the Web on the go.
QA operates 133 weekly flights to Dubai, connecting to over 150 international destinations, including five added this year — Amsterdam, Zanzibar, Faisalabad, Sialkot and Multan.
Following addition of Ras Al Khaimah, Abha and Durban this year, QA will expand its network further next year with new routes to Los Angeles, Boston and Atlanta in the US.
