Doha, Qatar: The first edition of the Qatar Toy Festival commences today at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center (DECC). With a duration extending until August 5, the festival adopts the captivating theme of ‘Live the Tales and Enjoy the Games.’ It is set to enchant visitors with an extraordinary showcase of more than 25 renowned toy brands from around the world.

Among the lineup of participating brands are iconic names such as Barbie, Blippi, Bluey, Cocomelon, Disney, HapeeCapee, Marvel, Fortnite, and Transformers. This grand event forms part of Qatar Tourism’s dynamic and diverse ‘Feel Summer in Qatar’ campaign.

In a special preview held yesterday, members of the media were granted an exclusive glimpse of what awaits festivalgoers. Attendees were delighted by the presence of roaming acts and beloved mascots like Angry Birds, Cocomelon, and Barney, among others. Visitors entering the DECC will be greeted by giant bears in vibrant colours such as blue, pink, yellow, red, and turquoise, creating a playful and childlike atmosphere.

Admission to the festival requires tickets, with different options available. The general ticket is priced at QR50, while the gold ticket costs QR100. Families can avail QR400 family package, which grants entry to five individuals. For those seeking a more luxurious experience, the VVIP ticket includes lounge access and is priced at QR1,500.

The festival is divided into four distinct areas, aptly named islands. These include Fancy Land, designed for children aged 4 to 12, featuring beloved characters such as Disney Princess, My Little Pony, Barbie, and Hayati Girl, along with a dedicated Fancy Land café.

Champions Land caters to ages 5 to 15 and showcases brands like Nerf, Marvel, Transformers, Beybattle Burst, Free Fire, Hot Wheels, and Fortnite. Cutie Pie is ideal for kids aged 2 to 6 and offers attractions featuring Blippi, Cocomelon, The Smurfs, and Bluey. Lastly, Hyper Land caters to ages 5 to 15 and boasts activities centered around popular brands like Scrabble, Race, Monopoly, Angry Birds, and Sonic the Hedgehog.

Organisers have announced that entrance to Rasha Rizk’s concert on Friday and Saturday, July 14-15, is included in the festival ticket. Rizk, a Syrian singer-songwriter, is recognised for her contributions to the Syrian cartoon dubbing company, Venus Centre, as well as for performing the Arabic theme songs for popular cartoons/anime such as Remi, Nobody’s Girl, Detective Conan, and the Digimon Series.

The festival will also captivate attendees with over 15 live stage shows, featuring enchanting performances by Louna Land, Strawberry Shortcake, The Smurfs, Barney, Miraculous, Bluey, My Little Pony, and many more. The event will be open on weekdays from 2pm to 10pm, and on weekends from 2pm to 11pm.
