Doha: Thunderstorms are seen moving gradually towards Doha and eastern areas said Qatar Meteorology Department on its social media.
The department also said another cloud formation of similar storms can be seen approaching the western part of the country.
Residents have been asked to be extra cautious as these may be accompanied by strong wind and hail at times.
Videos of rain in Duhail and Mukainis were shared by the department.
The weather body also tweeted a list of safety tips to be followed which include:
1. Stay indoors during thunderstorm.
2. Make sure to close windows if you are inside a car.
3. Avoid standing on roofs, or near high trees and electricity poles.
4. Stay away from open water.
In its weekend report, the department had predicted that there would be an atmospheric instability due to extension of low pressure over the region starting Sunday night (April 12) which will last until the end of next week.
