DOHA: With only two stages to go in the Hathab Equestrian Tour, Qatar’s top riders will continue the hunt for points at the 11th edition of the hugely popular competition today and tomorrow.
The Big Tour sees race for supremacy among prominent riders Hamad Nasser Al Qadi and his closest opponents Nasser Al Ghazali, Saeed Nasser Al Qadi and Mubarak Yousuf Al Rumaihi who will eye podium spots at Souq Waqif Arena tomorrow.
In the Medium Tour, prominent rider Saeed Nasser Al Qadi is leading the points sheets while several others including Mohamed Sultan Al Suwaidi are looking to excel.
There is a tough battle for the top spot in the Small Tour with Ghanim Nasser Al Qadi, Mohamed Khalifa Al Baker and Abdulaziz Ghanim Al Nuaimi are involving in a race to reach top spot in the 12-leg series.
The Tour organisers have moved the 11th leg of the QR1m series to the popular tourist destination in Doha where the Souq Waqif Equestrian Festival is being held.
The penultimate round of the series will begin with Small and Medium Tour events today, with the Open Class and Big Tour class events scheduled to be held after 4.30pm tomorrow.
The 12th and final round of the Hathab Series will take place from April 26 to 28.
Hathab Series is an initiative of H E Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani, President of the Qatar Olympic Committee. The championship is jointly organised by Al Shaqab and Qatar Equestrian Federation.
