Doha: Minister of Environment and Climate Change H E Sheikh Dr. Faleh bin Nasser bin Ahmed bin Ali Al Thani honoured yesterday governmental bodies with distinguished environmental initiatives that participated in the Qatari Environment Day 2022.
The recognition reflected the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change’s belief in the importance of efforts made to protect the Qatari environment and the country’s natural resources.
The Minister said in remarks to the press yesterday that this recognition was the least the ministry could do to bodies and individuals active in the field of environmental protection. He stressed the importance of societal participation in protecting the environment, along with the efforts of the state represented by the ministry.
The Minister highlighted that the Qatari Environment Day was one that raises awareness among the public on the importance of exerting further effort in that regard. A number of those recognised said that the recognition of their efforts will keep them motivated to continue with their initiatives aimed at protecting the environment. Qatar has been celebrating the Qatari Environment Day since 1996, which comes on February 26 of every year.
