Qatar Sustainability Week (QSW) 2022

There are a number of environmentally-friendly activities happening in the country through the QSW 2022 that will culminate on Saturday. This year’s campaign focuses on taking action to encourage the efficient use of resources including water, energy, and food, as well as reduce waste and promote recycling. 2022 Street Child World Cup Finals

After 7 days of combined training, art workshops, ‘Children Congress’, and group stage matches, the 4th edition of the Street Child World Cup comes down to the final day on Saturday when the best football teams (girls & boys) will lift this year’s championship trophies.
28 teams are representing 25 countries in the Doha edition, with the 10 teams representing refugee and displaced children being given the opportunity not just to play football but also to voice their rights and share their experiences and hopes for the future, which they will discuss during the General Assembly also on Saturday.

Labour of Love: Embroidering Palestinian History Exhibition

A Palestinian Museum travelling exhibition has reached Doha and will take you on a journey of discovery of tatreez (traditional Palestinian embroidery) and how it’s woven into the social, economic, and political fabric of society across different historical periods. It highlights the rich and dynamic changes Palestinian textiles have seen in many decades.
Labour of Love will walk you through the evolution of tatreez from a personal ritual to a national symbol and onto a globally-available and recognised product. For entry tickets, click here.
Community Days Festival at Flag Plaza

We all know by now that Flag Plaza is a public space open 24/7 that serves as a venue for celebrations, festivals and cultural performances from different communities in Qatar. If you haven’t visited this colourful space, gather your family and friends this weekend and visit the plaza for a group photo surrounded by flags, and catch the talented artists from these countries as they perform traditional and modern acts:

Visit the reopened Museum of Islamic Art (MIA)
When you've decided to see the new Flag Plaza, why not visit the nearby Museum of Islamic Art (MIA) that reopened recently after a long closure. The renovated MIA features 18 modernised galleries that are equipped with touchscreen monitors describing the objects, making it more interactive. The iconic museum features a diverse collection, including Islamic art, ceramics, glass, manuscripts, metalwork, textiles, woodwork, jewellery, and over 21,000 books. Guinness World Records Title for Largest Plastic Bottle Word

Everyone is invited to support Qatar's attempt to break the Guinness World Records Title for the Largest Plastic Bottle Word currently owned by Saudi Arabia's Al-Ettifaq Club. Join Seashore Recycling and Sustainability in creating something officially amazing out of used plastic bottles!
