Qatar University College of Education (CED), in a celebration of World Teachers’ Day, recognised its teachers with congratulatory awards for their role in bringing up and educating generations of children. The event was also designed to support the crucial role teachers in Qatar play in the society and recognise their efforts.

CED Dean Dr Hissa Sadiq, QU faculty members and members of the organisation’s Early Childhood Center were in attendance at the event.

In her remarks, Dr Sadiq stressed the important and positive role that teachers play in schools and colleges that she said directly impacts the development of any society.

Director of QU National Center for Educator Development Dr Abdullah Mohammad Abu-Tineh congratulated all the teachers and thanked them for their contribution to the country’s future and its development. “Qatari and non-Qatari teachers are enhancing and enriching the educational process. The Center believes that raising intelligent teachers is the best way to raise well-educated generations”, Dr Abu-Tineh said.

Head CED Department of Educational Sciences Dr Ali Al Rabai said: “What we learn from our teachers remains with us throughout our life. However, very often, we fail to show our appreciation and gratitude for their altruistic devotion. Teachers need encouragement and support from the community to know that their efforts are recognised”.
