Islamic Association office-bearers visit envoy

Office bearers of Indian Islamic Association Qatar (IIA), led by president Abdurahiman Ahmed, visited Sanjeev Arora, who took office recently as the new Ambassador of India to Qatar.

IIA officials briefed the Ambassador on the important humanitarian and social services being done by the association for the Indian community in Qatar. 

The annual medical camp for low income expatriates, the  ‘Kaniv’ fund  for helping the needy, ‘Swantanam’ scheme for assisting the ill-fated expatriates and their families etc were welcomed by the envoy who promised his full support for such humanitarian gestures. The Ambassador lauded the efforts of IIA in rendering such services to the expatriate Indian community. 

IIA PR & Media Wing Convener Taj Aluva added that some of the challenges faced by the Indian community in Qatar were brought to the attention of the envoy during this visit. 

IIA Vice President V T Faisal, Gen Secretary C H Najeeb were also among the office bearers who visited the envoy.
