The Gulf English School (GES) has been awarded the Council of International Schools accreditation ‘CIS’. The Council of International Schools is the premier worldwide accreditation organisation for international schools. The award of accreditation has been given with immediate effect following a team visit by the CIS accreditation officers in May which lasted a week.

The preparation for the accreditation process started four years ago, the kick off was when the school was awarded the candidate status to start self-evaluation process in October 2009. The self-evaluation process consisted of an overall review of all school operations which covers: Governance and leadership, faculty and staff, operational system, Access to teaching and learning, school culture and partnerships for learning, curriculum and guiding statements

“The GES Board of Trustees made the decision of acquiring the CIS accreditation few years ago, knowing that it involves a tremendous amount of work and 18 months of self-evaluation preceded by a period of preparation. This decision was taken as the Board strives for providing the highest quality of education to students and for GES to be distinguished in Qatar and worldwide.”

By achieving the CIS accreditation status The Gulf English School became one of three private schools in Qatar with the council of international schools accreditation.
