Doha: Doha Festival City has announced its partnership with Qatar Charity in a joint initiative dedicated to the holy month of Ramadan.
As part of the ongoing #Festival Cares initiative, Doha Festival City donated 1,000 boxes with essential Ramadan food supplies distributed to the workers throughout the Industrial Area and other locations, and the families with limited income, with support of Qatar Charity, as part of Qatar Charity’s ‘Ramadan of Hope’ drive.
Each box contained bottles of oil and concentrated juice beverage, pack of rice, lentils and sugar; a bag with box of dates and box of tea bags, all provided by Doha Festival City.
The distribution was held ahead of Ramadan to support the targeted workers and families to get ready for the Holy Month. Robert Hall, Festival City General Manager, said: “Giving back to the community is at the heart of Festival City’s mission, and we will continue to mobilise our efforts to support the people of Qatar from different backgrounds. We take pride in considering ourselves as an engaged community player that contributes to building a more inclusive and prosperous society where no one is left behind, especially during the Holy Month of Ramadan.”
“We would also like to thank Qatar Charity for supporting us to fulfill our charitable mission and express our appreciation towards the great efforts they continue to make to the community and lives of the people in Qatar and beyond every day,” said Hall.
Ahmed Al Shirawi, head of the External Relations and Social Responsibility section at Qatar Charity said: “Qatar Charity is committed to integrating private companies in charitable work and helping them to deploy their corporate social responsibility activities to drive positive change in the country.”
