Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MECC), represented by the Wildlife Development Department, held the second coordination meeting with the relevant authorities to follow up on the stages of implementing Law No. (10) of 2019 regarding the regulation of the possession of dangerous animals and creatures.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the Antiquities Department at MoI, the Customs Policies Department, and the Zoo Department, where the conditions and controls related to the possession and import of dogs classified as dangerous creatures covered by the law were discussed.

This meeting comes within a series of coordination meetings that aim to ensure the effective implementation of the provisions of the law, and enhance cooperation between the competent authorities, in a way that achieves a balance between public safety and the protection of environmental diversity in accordance with the best regulatory practices. MECC called on owners of dangerous dogs and animals to register through the electronic service available on the Ministry’s website, before the end of the specified registration period, which ends on April 22, 2025.
