1,908 take part in Katara Prize for Arabic Fiction’s 11th session

Doha: Katara Cultural Village Foundation (Katara) has announced that the number of participants in the eleventh session of the Katara Prize for Arabic Fiction amounted to 1,908 participants, while the number of unpublished novels reached 923.
Also, the number of published novels are 548, while 238 participants are in the category of unpublished boys’ novels and 97 participants in the category of unpublished studies, in addition to nine published Qatari novels, and 93 unpublished historical novels.  
At the geographical level, Egypt and Sudan ranked top of the countries with 796 participations, followed by the Levant and Iraq with 471 participations, then the Arab Maghreb countries with 466 participations, while the Arab Gulf countries recorded 162 participations, and finally recorded 13 participations from non-Arab countries.
