Maeda highlighted Qatar’s successful organisation of mega events like the Arab Cup and FIFA World Cup, stressing the positive reception of the latter as the best edition of the tournament. “I’m certain that these experiences have provided Qatar with the knowledge and expertise to organise another successful championship,” he told The Peninsula.
Moreover, he also expressed trust in Qatar’s infrastructure, including top-tier stadiums, transportation systems, and accommodations, to ensure a memorable experience for players and fans alike. “Qatar’s infrastructure, including world-class stadiums, transportation systems, and accommodations, is well-equipped to handle the influx of fans and players expected for the Asian Cup. So, I have no doubt that the AFC Asia Cup Qatar 2023 will also be an unforgettable experience for both players and fans.”
Qatar, hosting the Asian Cup for the record third time, demonstrates readiness despite the limited time to prepare following the tournament’s shift from China last summer.
