The Qatar National Day 2019 celebrations are set to start tomorrow evening at Darb Al Saai, the prime venue of Qatar National Day celebrations as all preparations are already complete.
The Organising Committee has invited the public to visit Darb Al Saai and enjoy its activities which target all age groups, as part of the Qatar National Day celebrations, and activities will start tomorrow 3pm.
The activities will start after raising the Qatari flag in the main square in the presence of representatives of the participating entities. The festivities will continue until December 20, 2019.
This year, the activities will be held under the motto ‘Al Maali Kaydah’ that means the path of excellence is difficult. The slogan is inspired by a poem of Qatar’s founder Sheikh Jassim describing his son Sheikh Ali bin Jassim (Joaan) and gives a clear picture of a whole generation of Qatari youth in the founding period.
The National Day commemorates the founding of the State of Qatar by the founder Sheikh Jassim bin Mohammed bin Thani on December 18, 1878, who laid the foundations of the modern state of Qatar, under whom Qatar became a single, coherent entity and an independent, unified country.
The activities come to achieve the vision of the National Day, by promoting loyalty, solidarity, unity and pride in the Qatari national identity, which is embodied by the celebrations of the National Day of the state on December 18 of each year.
Through a separate pavilion at Darb Al Saai, the Ministry of Culture and Sports will participate for the first time in the activities of Darb Al Saai.
A number of entities from the government and private sector are participating in these activities. Among these entities which announced its participation is the Police College. It has announced details of its participation in Qatar National Day 2019, at a press conference held at Darb Al Saai yesterday.
Speaking at the event, Major Fahd Saeed Al Subaie, Director of the College’s Training Department, said that participation in this precious day comes as a fulfilment of the vision of the National Day, and as an expression of loyalty, solidarity and unity, and pride in national identity.
He explained that the Police College would take part in the military parade to be held on December 18, 2019. It will also actively participate in the activities that are being held in Darb Al Saai ground from December 12 to 20.
Captain Rashid Ali Al Tamimi, Head of Sports Training Department at the Police College said that activities at Darb Al Saai will include several programs intended for children from 4 to 12 years such as infantry field, self-defence, sports barriers, field barriers, lasers and combat missions.
Among other entities the General Directorate of Traffic through its pavilion ‘Traffic Village’, which is for adults and children to teach them many important traffic rules. It also includes a mini traffic museum that was developed this year to includes many important about the history of traffic department.
The Organizing Committee of the Qatar National Day 2019 said that among the most important activities which reflect a historical aspect of the ancestral lives and increase feelings of pride and solidarity among the people of Qatar is Ardat Ahl Qatar (The Folk Sword Dance of the People of Qatar).
Also, there is Lemradah activity which aims to revive the Qatari heritage and to introduce the youth about it to build bridges of communication between generations.
