DOHA: The Ministry of Culture organized on Sunday a seminar titled "Cultural Industry...Economy & Social Transformation" through which three themes were discussed, including engineering culture, cultural industries, cultural industries and their role in the economy.
In his speech, Director of Cultural Affairs and Events at Katara Khalid Abdul Rahim Al Sayed focused on the concept of cultural industries and their association with corporate concepts in culture and the model of projects management, including the financial aspect that ensures projects sustainability.
Meanwhile, Director of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Academy Dr. Abdul Rahim Al Hour tackled the topic of cultural industries and their role in the economy, noting that alternative culture cannot supersede the original culture that is why it is essential to count on the original culture since it is an integral part of the country's economy and the core element of determining the national income ratios.
Qatari journalist Abdulaziz Al Ishaq underscored the importance of thinking in the new phase of culture, indicating that preparation should be made by providing the human resources to ensure capacity building, citing examples of Qatar's preparations at the onset of the second millennium dedicated to directing the human competences to further study the management of sporting events, stressing on the importance of engaging the youth to ensure that cultural projects are not morphed into variable time project, including the importance of considering the innovative culture just like the global experiences in this field.
Director of the Department of Culture and Arts at the Ministry of Culture Maryam Yassin Al Hammadi said that the ministry of culture continues to provide a package of various culture-associated seminars, adding that cultural and innovative industries are extremely vital because an innovative and cultural economy is critical phase of economy and sustainability alike that would achieve cultural diversity and community's privacy, emphasizing that the ministry is working to offer culture-related topics that contribute to exploring the talents in partnership with the entire entities.
