Los Angeles: Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu won the Golden Globe for best director on Sunday for his work on "The Revenant," the epic survival thriller starring Leonardo DiCaprio.
Inarritu bested Todd Haynes ("Carol"), Tom McCarthy ("Spotlight"), George Miller ("Mad Max: Fury Road") and Ridley Scott ("The Martian").
