Doha: A bilateral meeting was held yesterday between the State of Qatar and the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction, on the sidelines of the Fifth Arab Regional Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction.
During the meeting, which was held via video communication technology, the State of Qatar was represented by Director General of the General Directorate of Civil Defence Brigadier General Hamad Othman Al Duhimi and Secretary of the Civil Defence Council Colonel Ahmed Al Abdullah.
The United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction was represented by Ricardo Mina, Director of the Office, and Sujit Mohanty, Director of the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction - Regional Office for Arab States.
During the meeting, discussions focused on strengthening cooperation frameworks between the Qatar and the UN office in the areas of disaster risk reduction.
