The Qatar-Hungary bilateral relations are going strong and enhancing, and are currently preparing for the signing of two Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on cultural and medical agreements, Hungary's Ambassador to Qatar, H E Ferenc Korom has said.
In an interview with The Peninsula, H E Korom said: “There are different platforms where we are enhancing our relationship, examples are the cultural and medical agreements that we are preparing and hoping to sign it soon.”
“It is a frame agreement between the two ministries, and based on these agreements, we can enhance our cultural relationship,” he continued. On the medical agreement, the envoy said both countries have a medical system that they can learn and share from each other.
There are several bilateral agreements that were signed between Qatar and Hungary to date, the latest of which is the agreement on the mutual exemption of visa requirements for holders of diplomatic and special passports for the two countries.
According to Qatar Embassy in Budapest, Hungary, there are a number of agreements being prepared to be concluded, one of which was mentioned by H E Korom on the cultural cooperation agreement, others include agreement on cooperation and a joint exchange of news between Qatar News Agency and the Hungarian News Agency, and MoU in the fields of Youth and Sports.
Commenting on the upcoming FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, the diplomat said the country has “set-up a perfect environment for the World Cup, and I am sure there will be a great opportunity for cultural exchange as many people will be coming to the country.”
“This is the first time where we will have a World Cup in the region, and the country and its people have done a great job, the preparation they have done will provide good circumstance for the event,” he concluded.
