MES wins title in athletic meet

Doha: MES Indian School clinched the overall championship title in the Boys’ and Girls’ category in the two-day Qatar Cluster Athletic Meet conducted for the CBSE affiliated schools on November 29-30 at MES Indian School. 

MES won the title with 37 gold, 20 silver and 3 bronze medals to its tally (448 points) surpassing Al Khor International School that finished with 317 points in the second position and Ideal Indian School with 211 points ended up third.

The highlight of the event was that a new record was created, when the Boys’ MES 4X100 relay team broke the existing national athletic meet record by clocking an amazing 43.84sec. Shuhana and Mohamed Shohaib of MES were adjudged the individual champions in the Girls’ and Boys’ Under-14 category respectively.

While Mishal of MES and Arju Kailash of Al Khor International School won the Boys’ and Girls’ Under-16 individual championship title respectively. In the Under-19 Boys’ and Girls’ categories, Mohamed Anas of Shantiniketan and Amina of MES Indian School became the individual championship title winners in their respective category.
