In one of its many endeavours to foster ideas worth sharing and inculcate the spirit of initiative and collaboration in its students, DPS Modern Indian School (DPS-MIS) is hosting the second edition of TEDxYouth@DPSMIS.
The first edition was held in 2015 with the theme ‘Embrace Uncertainty’. This year, the event will be held on November 10 at the school itself and will feature five speakers with backgrounds as diverse as doctors, photographers, and stand-up comedians. This year’s theme is Transcend and Include, celebrating the spirit of TEDxYouth, the speakers and the event itself.
The speakers of this year were carefully curated through an open call, followed by an interview. Featuring one of the youngest TEDx speakers, 14 year old Dennise Ann, this year has been the most inclusive year possible.
Lubaib Gazir, an avid traveller and photographer is expected to share his insights from travelling as a speaker. Qatar’s favourite stand-up comedian Hamad Al Amari will also be gracing the event as a speaker talking about goal setting and asking the right questions.
Other speakers include, fashion icon and empowerment advocate Layla Al Siyabi who is expected to inspire the audience to look beyond beauty, and Dr Mohamud Verjee of Weill Cornell Medical College, Qatar who will be giving a profound talk on integrative medicine and adding meaning to life.
