Doha: The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) affirmed that 4,000 brand-new cars were delivered to consumers following extensive inspection campaigns carried out in Qatar.

The MoCI praised the car dealerships' commitment to supplying consumers in the country with new vehicles.

The campaigns are part of the state of Qatar’s efforts to ensure car dealerships are in compliance with circular No. (1) for the year 2023.

The circular was prepared by the Consumer Protection and Combatting Commercial Fraud Department at the ministry, which had prepared the “specifying delivery date” form which would require compulsory information based on the rulings of the law.

In March, the Ministry issued a circular specifying the obligations car suppliers have towards consumers reserving new vehicles.

The supplier, according to the circular, would have to fill out a form once they are certain about the availability of the requested vehicle, and once the date of delivery and the vehicle payment are confirmed.

The customer would then be provided a copy of this delivery date form which the supplier would have to abide by.
