Doha: Holiday Villa Doha has completed its renovation of the lobby and the popular D’Chopstix Chinese & Japanese fusion restaurant. D’Chopstix, a crowd favourite when it comes to Far Eastern cuisine in Qatar, has a completely new look with three private rooms.
“We have retained most of the popular dishes in the menu and have introduced some interesting new ones. We have also introduced special custom-made tables where customers can grill their meat right on the table along with a hot pot. This is a very unique feature,” said Roy Buma, Deputy General Manager, Holiday Villa.
The restyled lobby has a very chic modern look with a vibrant feel. The selection of settees, chairs and accompanying tables are done meticulously to ensure the comfort of guests to lounge back and relax. A combination of simple elegance and extravagance, with throw pillows of different shapes and colours to complement each sofa set.
The idea was to capture the essence of the hotel overall design to create first impression to the guests. “We are planning many new things in the near future. We will be opening a rooftop restaurant, which will be multi-cuisine and will have three different sections, with a fabulous view,” said Ruban Jack, Operations Manager.
Newly renovated D’Chopstix is a Far Eastern fusion concept featuring Chinese and Japanese cuisines. Its traditional Teppanyaki with live cooking and popular Dim Sum Brunch on every Friday add up to the cultural ambience that brings the Far East into the heart of Doha.
The heart of any restaurant would be its chefs. On the Chinese section Chef Lee Tiam Ho who has 19 years’ experience working for Chinese Restaurants in Malaysia and Singapore, before joining the Holiday Villa Hotel Doha in 2013. Chef Lee is specialized in Cantonese cuisines with a twist of Malaysian flavours.
Chef Lee’s signature dish Claypot Trio Seafood (Braised prawn, squid and mussel with mild spicy tropical lemon grass sauce), is a must try for all Chinese cuisine aficionados. The hotel recently appointed a very talented Mohammad Fauzi for the Japanese section. He has about 30 years’ experience with prominent Japanese restaurants in Malaysia.
He is specialised in Sushi and Maki such as Lava Maki – California Roll topped with Fish Roe and Japanese Mayo Dressing, Shake Teri Salsa Maki – Torched Salmon Roll topped with Home Made Salsa Teriyaki Sauce. Diners will have a range of delectable choices of Nigiri, Sashimi, and Menrui to choose from. While dining at D’Chopstix, patrons will be able to enjoy the ambience that has the cultural element of the Orient with a modern twist. Diners would be spoiled by choices from the ala carte menu for both Chinese and Japanese selections. The restaurant is open daily to serve lunch and dinner.
