Doha: Director of International Organizations Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) HE Sheikha Hanouf bint Abdulrahman Al Thani emphasized the significance of the "Humanitarian Impact Forum 2025," whose identity was unveiled by Qatar Charity on Sunday, as it brings together non-governmental organizations and donors or supporters, with partners from the United Nations, to provide humanitarian work and deliver aid.

In special remarks to Qatar News Agency (QNA) on the sidelines of the launch of the forum's identity, Her Excellency pointed out that the world today is witnessing a state of unprecedented political complexity, as geopolitical crises overlap with humanitarian and economic challenges, which increases the complexity of the international scene and the lack of stability in many regions, in addition to the growth of additional challenges such as the challenge of climate change, health crises, the exacerbation of poverty and hunger, among others.

Her Excellency noted that the Qatari role is not limited to political matters only, but also includes humanitarian matters, facilitating the entry and continuity of aid, and reaching innovative and sustainable solutions to deliver it, as the total humanitarian aid provided by the State of Qatar reached around USD 2.7 billion between 2020 and 2024.

In a related context, Her Excellency referred to the role of the United Nations organizations in facilitating the entry of humanitarian aid, which gives both sides a lot of mutual experience.

Her Excellency said that the State of Qatar does not deal with UN organizations, including the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), as a "donor state and beneficiary," but rather as key partners in delivering humanitarian aid to those most in need.

HE Director of International Organizations Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Sheikha Hanouf bint Abdulrahman Al Thani addressed preventive diplomacy, saying that it is one of the pillars of Qatar's foreign policy. In this regard, she added that developing plans to prevent crises that may occur in the future is better than seeking to find solutions for them after they have occurred.

Her Excellency indicated that in the session she participated in today on the sidelines of the launch of the "Humanitarian Impact Forum 2025" identity, entitled "Bridging Boundaries: Collaborative Solutions for Humanitarian Access in Complex Political Landscapes," she addressed the issue of the humanitarian impact of political crises, and said that it is not only an economic or infrastructure-related impact, but rather a major psychological impact on people affected by the crisis, which requires us to work on finding solutions that guarantee a decent life for them and treat the psychological conditions resulting from crises.
