A top official at a large US-based healthcare group has lauded Qatar’s efforts and arrangements made in healthcare services for the fast approaching FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
Johonniuss Chemweno, CEO of VIP StarNetwork, a leading provider of mobile and on-site health services, has said that Qatar’s allocated resources ensure the health and medical safety of fans.
With over 1.5 million people from all over the world travelling to Qatar, healthcare is a key priority and Qatar has made massive steps providing health and safety services for the World Cup, Chemweno told The Peninsula in an email interview.
“Qatar’s preparation for the World Cup is unparalleled to previous World Cups in terms of stadiums, architectural excellence. The infrastructure seems capable of handling the mass gatherings that will take place across the small nation.
“After visiting the country several weeks ago in preparation to support the health, medical and safety for fans, players, dignitaries, and the many others who will be in attendance throughout the event in Qatar, I can say firsthand the country has invested and continues to devote resources to ensure the event is an experience that no one will forget,” he added.
The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) has said that its healthcare partners are committed to supporting the delivery of a safe and healthy tournament for everyone involved.
Visitors coming to Qatar for the tournament can access medical care at any of the country’s private or public hospitals, medical centres, clinics and pharmacies.
In addition to these services at dedicated healthcare facilitates, there are also a host of special healthcare services that will be open in and around all FIFA World Cup related events and locations during the tournament.
VIP StarNetwork has formed partnerships with several organisations in Qatar to fulfil the vast need for healthcare at the World Cup.
