Iraq Waqf chief raises pitch against terrorism

Baghdad: The President of the Office of the Sunni Endowment (Waqf) in Iraq Sheikh Dr Abdul Latif Alhmaim told an anti-terror conference that the apex body will harness all resources to confront terrorism which is a global menace.
Around 3,500 clerics, religion scholars are attending the two-day conference mulling fanaticism, extremism and terrorism.
The spread of terrorism has to be robustly confronted, if not the consequences will affect the entire Middle East region, and be limited to Iraq, Dr Alhmaim said.
