Qatar win four silver medals as Hairane and Nasir reach final

Qatari athletes Jamal Hairane and Mohamed Nasir will both run in the final of the men's 800 meters of the 22nd Asian Athletics Championship 2017 in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, India after their impressive performances in the heats.
Hairane and Nasir were both placed second in their respective heats which took place yesterday at the Kalinga Stadium.
So far, Qatar have secured four silver medals during the four-day championship and Hairane has already got one of them under his name, the medal he won in the men's l500m final, clocking 3:46.90.
Asia's fastest man, Femi Seun Ogunode earned silver for Qatar when he clocked 10.26 seconds in the rain-hit men's 100m final.

Yaser Salem won two silver medals. His first medal came in the men's 3000m steeple chase in which he clocked 8:46.16 and went on to double the joy when he secured the second place in the 5000m final with a 14:55.89 run.
Hosts India are leading the medal tally with a total of 20 medals including seven golds  while team Qatar is placed 13 with four silver medals.
More than 800 athletes from 45 Asian countries are taking part in the Championship which will conclude today. The winners in Bhubaneshwar will get a direct entry into the World Championships which will be held in London next month.
