DOHA: Qatar Meteorology Department has warned the residents of the country of an “unsettled weather” from Saturday and “scattered thundery rain” likely on Monday and Tuesday.
“Scattered rain of variable intensity thundery at times especially on Monday and Tuesday
Unsettled weather conditions expected to affect the country during the period between Saturday evening 9/2/2019 until Tuesday evening 12/2/2019 due to the passage of an upper level low pressure system,” the department said in a tweet.
“Atmospheric conditions expected to be favorable for scattered rain inshore and
offshore may become thundery at times in some areas accompanied with strong wind causing rising dust and low visibility.” it added.
“Rainfall amount expected to range between light to moderate and heavy at times especially on Monday and Tuesday. Wind will be mostly Southeasterly to northeasterly ranging between 5 to 15 kt reaching 25 kt during thundery rain causing wave height to rise to more than 7 Ft,” it said.
“Temperatures during this period expected range between 20 to 25 °C during day time and 16 to 20°C at night,” the alert concluded.
Qatar Meteorology Department urges all to be cautious, avoid going to sea during this period as well as to follow latest updates through it's official social media accounts.
