Fashion & Beauty Month at Doha Festival City

Doha Festival City is hosting a Fashion & Beauty Month with an array of fashion, beauty, and pampering activities for everyone. Residents can have a one-to-one styling consultation with the in-house fashion stylists and enjoy free make-up application inside the Fashion Bubble.

The Fashion Bubble will host make-up masterclass, skin consultation, and fashion design workshop. Every Friday and Saturday a fashion show will take place by brands available in the mall.

Qatar National Sports Day event

As parts of Qatar National Sports Day, Fraser Suits Doha conducts #bigmeetup 2.0. Speakers include Qatari cycling enthusiast Abdulla al hammadi,  Pierre Daniel, the French national who ran across Qatar, Abdulla Ali, the fencing & marathon man.  Athletes & Fitness professionals Obada Samir, Tarek El Sherif,  and Salman also will be in attendance.

Chocolate Tea Coffee Festival 2019

This is the last weekend for chocolate, tea and coffee lovers to indulge in the second edition of the Chocolate, Coffee and Tea Festival held until February 9, 2019.

Organised by Four and One, the festival will be bringing together more than 90 local and international exhibitors, ready to display and provide free tasting of their finest chocolate, teas and coffee while introducing new products and live competitions.

Katara Cultural Diversity Festival

This weekend will feature folkloric shows from Morocco.

The festival features an array of cultural performances from different nations around the world and aims to act as bridge between cultures and provide a multicultural harmonious environment.

The festival is free for everyone.

Halal Qatar Festival

With the aim of preserving Qatar’s traditional heritage and culture, the Cultural Village Foundation, Katara, is preparing to launch the eighth edition of Halal (Livestock) Festival.

The nine-day festival, which is one of the largest in the region, includes an array of activities aimed at raising public awareness on the country’s livestock sector.

The festival features a livestock auction on the best breeds of goats and sheep which brings in more varieties for breeders to enhance production.

Naveen Kumar to perform with Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra

Prolific Indian recording artiste Naveen Kumar, known for his collaboration with Academy-Award winning music composer A R Rahman, will be in Doha to headline Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra’s upcoming concert at Qatar National Convention Centre.

A flautist, music composer and singer, Naveen will perform at the concert “Music of Bollywood with Naveen Kumar/Qatar-India Year of Culture 2019” featuring music by well-known Indian and Qatari composers.

The repertoire includes A R Rahman compositions including Theme from Bombay, Cry of Rose (Kadhal Rojave) and Medley of Tollywood and Bollywood as well as Naveen’s compositions Fantasy Flute and Cafe Fluid.

Songs by Qatari composers which will be performed at the show include Dana Alfardan’s Spirit of Thunder, Nasser Sahim’s Four Seasons, and Wael Binali’s The Oryx and the Unicorn from Shafallah Suite.

Ravi’s Music from Chaudhvin Ka Chand, Ilaiyaraaja’s Rakkamma Kaiya Thattu from the movie Thalapathi, and M.M. Keeravani’s Music from Baahubali are among other pieces set to be performed at the show.

Ticket prices range from QR75 to QR200 and can be purchased at Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra’s website.

‘Emotions’ Exhibition

The exhibition showcases the works by Kuwaiti artist Abdallah Al Otaiby titled “Emotions” where Otaiby illustrated some human emotions through artwork.

‘4 Visions’ Exhibition

The exhibition titled ‘Visions’ is a collective work of four Pakistani artists Shahla Khan, Mala Wassim, Adnan Siraj and Shazia Bahenji. The artists have expressed many meanings through their paintings describing different visions of people.

Monster Maker

Fire Station resident artist Nourbanu Hijazi is organizing an old classic game with a fun twist.

Each participant will take turns drawing monsters on folded sections of a long paper scroll, leaving little information for the next person to see. Once everyone adds their contribution on the scroll, passing it on until it is full, it will then be unfolded to see the creature on it.

Everyone will get to choose different elements of the long monster, and make their own beast sculpture out of air-dry clay and other materials.

ArcheoMed 3D exhibition

An interactive 3D exhibition featuring important Unesco World Heritage Sites in the Mediterranean basin and in the Middle East launched at Bin Jelmood House at Msheireb Museums.

The exhibition is formed by panels dedicated to the history of a selection of archaeological wonders from several countries including Italy (Temple of Zeus in Agrigento and Pompeii), Qatar (Al-Zubarah), Morocco (Volubilis), Tunisia (El Jem), Algeria (Djémila), Syria (Krak des Chevaliers), Palestine (Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem), Lebanon (Baalbek), Turkey (Hagia Sophia), Jordan (Petra), Libya (Leptis Magna), United Arab Emirates (Al Ain), Bahrain (Qal’at al-Bahrain) and Egypt (Phile).

Nelson Mandela, Day of Freedom 

Opera Singer Lillian Sibeko will perform at the opera house at Katara on February 9 on the occasion of Nelson Mandela, Day of Freedom. Organised by South African Embassy in Doha along with Katara, the musical concert is to celebrate the man who became an icon of peace and human rights.

Fun days at Public Parks 

Family entertainment activities will take place at seven public parks in Qatar, one park each Friday. 

The Fun Days will feature exciting competitions, fun activities, planting experiences, and interactive games, in addition to various sports such as zumba, karate, and kickboxing.

The activities will be held consecutively in Izghawa Park (February 8), Al Shahaniya Park (February 15), Khor Plaza Park (February 22),Celebration Square Park — Al Daayen (March 1), Al Legtaifiya Park (March 8), Al Shamal Park (March 15) and Al Wakrah Public Garden (March 22).

What's more, there will be weekly contests and lucky draw held with a chance to win valuable prizes.
