Doha: Coronavirus has completely changed the way one works, lives and of course, eats. Casual dining means now casually lounging on your sofa and munching snacks and for fine dining you 'travel' to your dining room and enjoy the finely cooked instant Ramen.

In the beginning of the work from home days, people were polishing their culinary skills and dishing out Instagram worthy plates of delicacies. As days passed and boredom seeped in, the numbers of food pictures are on the decline. Many have started looking for ordering in options as you can't visit your favourite restaurants for some more time.

Since staying home means less movement and fewer workouts, people are becoming considerate and are looking for healthy(ish), options while ordering in food.

One healthy option to try while ordering online would be the famous flame-grilled chicken from Nando's. The PERi-PERi flavoured chicken is 24 hours marinated and sourced locally in Qatar.

PERi-PERi, also known as the African Bird's Eye Chilli, is the key to Nando's flame-grilled, PERi-PERi chicken. It's grown in the African soil.  The chilli seeds are rich in Vitamins A, B, and C.

Some of their popular items under 600 calories: The chicken butterfly is 471 Kcal, 1/4 chicken is 329, spinach is 148 and chargrilled around 82.  The fact that the menu can be customized the way you want makes it an even better option. So if you are calorie conscious, the nutrition count on the menu helps.

Cutting carbs? Order a Quinoa (superfood) salad topped with extra chicken strips. Try chicken butterfly or 1/4 chicken with chargrilled veggies or spinach or corn on the cob. Or you can go ahead with 1/2 chicken with choice of flavour and a freshly squeezed orange juice. The menu can always be custom made with skinless chicken options. Ask the manager on duty for a range of gluten-free dishes when placing an order to be delivered by Nando's.

Eating healthy doesn't mean only low calories. It should be a great balance of protein, fat and carbs depending on your health goals and calories you burn every day. Losing or gaining weight is all about calories in vs calories out. As they say, don't count calories but the memories.
