DOHA: Dutch football star Wesley Sneijder will be the newest addition to Qatari side Al Ghrafa, the cub confirmed via social media yesterday.

The former Real Madrid,  Inter Milan and Nice playmaker will arrive in Doha tomorrow to finalise the deal, Al Gharafa said on their official Twitter account yesterday.

According to reports, the 33-year-old has accepted an 18-month deal to play for the Panthers and his presence will be a massive boost to Bulent Uygun’s team which already has the services of former Chile international

Luis Jimenez and Slovakia’s Vladimir Weiss.

With 19 major honours and over 130 caps for Holland, Sneijder, who joined Nice in August, played four league games this season.

“It’s a nice adventure and a fun challenge,” Sneijder told RTL Boulevard, a Dutch television show yesterday.

“I am really happy to go for it together with my family,” he added.

Sneijder is the most-capped player in Netherlands history and has won the Champions League as well as domestic titles in Netherlands, Spain, Italy and Turkey over a glittering career.

The Dutchman has enjoyed an impressive career which culminated with a Champions League win with Inter Milan in 2010 and a promising stint with Real Madrid. After that season, he was considered one of the world’s very best.

Sneijder was instrumental in Inter Milan’s run to Champions League, starring against Chelsea, Barcelona and the final against Bayern. Sneijder was named the best player at the 2010 World Cup that summer in which  the Netherlands became runner-up. He finished fourth for the Ballon d’Or that year.
