Doha: The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MoECC) has organised a training course to foster General Authority of Customs staffers’ capabilities to handle dangerous goods and dual-use items.
Organized by the MoECC’s Hazardous Chemicals and Waste Department at the Customs Training Centre in Mesaieed, the event educated participants about classes of hazardous chemicals and inspection methods and preventive guidelines.
The participants were also informed about the customs regulations on the control of dangerous goods and dual-use items and the associated customs risks.
This course is part of the ongoing cooperation between the MoECC and the General Authority of Customs, with the aim of enhancing the capabilities of the Authority's employees in inspecting hazardous materials at customs ports across the country.
