Cairo: King of Bahrain Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa on Tuesday expressed his country's rejection of any attempts to displace Palestinians from their lands and expand settlements in the occupied territories. He praised the Egyptian initiative presented at the Extraordinary Arab Summit on Gaza.
During the opening session of the Extraordinary Arab Summit hosted by Egypt at the request of Palestine to discuss developments in the Palestinian cause and ways to support the Palestinian people, King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa emphasized that adherence to a permanent and comprehensive peace path is the framework that guarantees the Palestinian people their legitimate historical rights to self-determination and the establishment of their independent state.
He explained that this is based on the two-state solution and in accordance with the Arab Peace Initiative and all relevant international resolutions and subsequent Arab plans, as well as the decisions to be issued from this meeting, which serve the interest of the Palestinian people.
