Qatar’s Saad Fahad excelled by finishing runner-up in the feature competition of the Qatar National Sprint 2017, organised by Qatar Motor and Motorcycling Federation (QMMF) at the Losail International Circuit last weekend.
Fahad produced a consistent show in all of his three runs taking an accurate 30 seconds in class 15 class contest, falling behind Yaser Al Jlahma by just fractions of a second. Yaser won the event with a time of 36.7 seconds.
Nadeem Zidade finished third with a time of 37.8 followed by Fakhreddine (38.6sec), Euce Daccache (39) and Jhon Ralpha (40.1). Christain Sarriento finished on the bottom with a time of 46.6sec.
In class 35, Mohammed Saif reigned supreme by one second after a fine show, securing his best time of 35.9. Dennis Nikitopolous claimed second position with a time of 36.9 sec. He edged out Martin Staffel who got the best finish of 37. Mohammed Aldelaimi and Alaa Tarawneh secured the following positions with times of 38.7 and 39.7 respectively.
The class 45 saw Khalid Al Mansoori outclassing Fitz Vidal to earn top spot. Khalid secured a time of 37.1 with Vidal finishing the job in 40.2.    
In another event, Abdullah Al Khalfi prevailed over his opponents with a time of 35.4 followed by Deograysa (42) and Ahmed Elgezy (45.1).
The season is in full swing with the QMMF gearing up to host various major events including next month’s Cross Country Rally.
Besides, the upcoming action at Losail includes the season-opening MotoGP race.
Last month, the world class circuit also hosted the season-opening race of MXGP World Championship, which was won by Italian star Antonio Cairoli after an exciting battle.
