Doha, Qatar: The Amir HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad bin Al Thani, and Consort of HH the Amir HH Sheikha Jawaher bint Hamad bin Suhaim Al Thani arrived at the Royal Horse Guards Arena in London, during their state visit to the friendly United Kingdom, at the invitation of HM King Charles III.
Their Highnesses were received by HM King Charles III upon their arrival at the Royal Protocol podium, HE Prime Minister Keir Starmer, and a number of Their Excellencies ministers, lords, military generals, and senior officials.
The reception ceremony began with the royal salute and the playing of the national anthem of the State of Qatar, after which HH the Amir, accompanied by HM King Charles III, reviewed the royal guard of honor.
After that, HM King Charles III accompanied HH the Amir and Consort of HH the Amir to Buckingham Palace in traditional royal carriages, while the Qatari and British salutations played in tribute to their highnesses, and the royal artillery fired eighty-two rounds.
HM King Charles III awarded HH the Amir the Grand Knight of the Order, the highest British award, in appreciation of the distinguished relations between the two countries, while HH the Amir bestowed upon HM King Charles III the Founder’s Sword of Sheikh Jassim bin Mohammed bin Thani, the highest honor in the country.
The medal exchange ceremony held at Buckingham Palace was attended by Consort of HH the Amir HH Sheikha Jawaher bint Hamad bin Suhaim Al Thani.
HH the Amir and his Consort also attended the official luncheon hosted by HM King Charles III and HM Queen Camilla at Buckingham Palace in honor of their Highnesses and the accompanying official delegation.
The ceremony, the exchange of medals, and the luncheon were attended by Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, and a number of Their Excellencies members of the delegation accompanying HH the Amir, while on the British side were HRH Prince William, Crown Prince of Wales, and HRH Princess Catherine, the Princess of Wales, and a number of members of the royal family.
HRH Prince William, Crown Prince of Wales, and HH Princess Catherine, the Princess of Wales, accompanied HH the Amir and HH Sheikha Jawaher from the residence to the ceremony earlier today.
