Culture Minister honours Kuwaiti delegation during visit to Darb Al Saai

Doha: Minister of Culture H E Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al Thani and Chairman of the Organizing Committee for Qatar National Day (QND) Celebrations, honoured the delegation of Balat Al Shuhada Secondary School for Boys in Kuwait, during their visit to Darb Al Saai.

The Kuwaiti school delegation toured Darb Al Saai, QND celebrations venue, during which they learned about various aspects of the cultural events and activities held there, as they expressed their joy and pride in what the State of Qatar offers to its guests, the exceptional organisation of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, as well as the beautiful and various activities in Darb Al Saai.

The Director of Balat Al Shuhada School Ali Al Dhafiri, appreciated in a statement the warm welcome of officials in the State of Qatar, which the delegation witnessed during their visit, saying, that ‘warm reception and generosity is not strange for our brothers in our second country, Qatar’.

He admired Darb Al Saai which is hosting various cultural and heritage activities and events and their educational implications for students, as they have the opportunity to learn about Qatari and Gulf heritage in general, due to the convergence of customs, traditions and culture as well. To conclude his statement, the school Director raised his warmest congratulations to the leadership and people of the State of Qatar on the occasion of the National Day and the success of organizing the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, wishing Qatar further progress and prosperity.

For his part, the Assistant Director at Balat Al Shuhada School Abdullah Zakaria, said that the visit to this large gathering of heritage and cultural events is very important, expressing his admiration for the design of the buildings in Darb Al Saai, which reflects the old architectural style in the Arab Gulf countries, and provides an opportunity for students to learn about the development of building forms in these countries. The delegation of Balat Al-Shuhada Secondary School in Kuwait, which includes 104 people, the principal, 3 assistant principals, 32 teachers and 68 students, arrived in Doha to attend part of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 matches.
