Doha: Qatar University recently launched its Artificial Intelligence (AI) Students Club which will provide students with a wide space for creativity, innovation and experimentation in the said field of study.
Dr. Mohammad Diab, Associate Vice President for Student Life and Services said “we affirm in the student life and services department in particular our permanent support for such initiatives. We aim to work with them to provide a stimulating learning environment for students which will be characterized by high-quality professional standards to contribute together in building a distinguished university graduate.”
Meanwhile, Khalid Naji, Dean of College of Engineering asserted that “AI has undoubtedly become one of the main pillars upon which the various technology industry is based, and it is one of the features of the Fourth Industrial Revolution that we are living in now. It will serve the various state institutions, ministries and our society to make its mark in this field, enhanced by the spirit of leadership and innovation.”
For his part, Abdulaziz Al-Ali, Director of KINDI Computing Research Center at College of Engineering and newly appointed Advisor to the AI Student Club said “artificial intelligence has now become the main driver of modern solutions everywhere. Having a student organization will shape the minds of the next generation to understand the sciences related to AI and how to face the relevant upcoming challenges.”
The head of the AI Club Musallam Al Qawasmi said that the creation of the club will contribute to achieve Qatar’s National Vision 2030. He also urged students to join and elevate the club to the highest ranks.
