Doha: The Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs represented by General Department of Endowments has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Education Above All Foundation (EAA) for establishing ‘Third Assalam Predatory and Secondary School for Girls’.
Third Assalam School enrolled about 300 students for the preparatory and secondary stages. Students have joined the school at its temporary campus. A permanent campus will open at the beginning of the new year at an operational cost of about QR6.6m.
The agreement was signed by Director General of General Department of Endowments, Dr. Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed bin Ghanem Al Thani, and CEO of Education Above All Foundation, Fahad bin Hamad Al Sulaiti.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Dr. Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed bin Ghanem Al Thani said the Endowment Fund for Scientific and Cultural Development will support the Third Assalam Predatory and Secondary School for Girls. He said the agreement comes within the efforts of the Endowment Fund for Scientific and Cultural Development to support the education sector and provide access to education to all. Dr. Sheikh Khalid said the MoU is part of a series of agreements and cooperation with the Education Above All Foundation.
He said First Assalam School opened two years ago, and in addition to cooperation in the field of basic education, there is cooperation and partnership in supporting educational scholarships for university education.
Fahad bin Hamad Al Sulaiti thanked the General Department of Endowments for this constructive cooperation with the Foundation in the field of education and its provision to all sectors of society, which embodies the real role of the endowment in serving the various sectors of society, including the education sector.
He said that the continuous cooperation resulted in a number of projects such as the First Assalam School and the University Scholarship Project.
