Doha, Qatar: The State of Qatar welcomes Britain's announcement to suspend arms export licenses to the Israeli occupation, including equipment used in the current war on the Gaza Strip.
This is considered an important step towards protecting Palestinian civilians, especially children and women.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasizes that this suspension is compatible with the resolutions of the Security Council, the United Nations General Assembly, and the International Court of Justice, calling for an immediate ceasefire, providing full protection to civilians and civilian objects, and ensuring the unhindered efforts to end the war in the Gaza Strip.
The Ministry also points that this suspension would support the ongoing efforts to end the war in the Gaza strip.
The Ministry reiterates Qatar’s firm and enduring position on supporting the Palestinian cause and the steadfastness of the brotherly Palestinian people, based on the resolutions of International legitimacy and the two-state solution, ensuring the establishing of an independent Palestinian state on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
