Cairo: The Arab League called Monday for launching a comprehensive Sudanese national dialogue on the basis of the country's unity and the integrity of its national territories.
The League stressed in a statement the necessity of preserving the Sudanese state institutions and preventing any foreign interference in its affairs.
Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit, during his meeting with Sudanese Foreign Minister Ali Youssef El-Sherif, reiterated the determinants that define the League's position regarding the Sudanese crisis, most notably the country's unity, sovereignty and territorial integrity.
For his part, the Sudanese Foreign Minister briefed Aboul Gheit on the latest field developments in Sudan, in light of the progress achieved by the Sudanese Armed Forces.
