DOHA: Saudi rider Khaled Al Eid yesterday won the feature event with Valuta S on day two of the Al Rayyan International Show Jumping Championship.
Valuta S clocked a time of 62.16 seconds as Al Eid picked up the top prize of QR 74,500.
Qatar’s Sheikh Ali bin Khalid Al Thani guided Concordija to second spot. Concordija clocked a time of 62.63 seconds. The second prize was worth QR 59,600.
Saudi rider Kamal Bahamdan (Noblesse Des Tess) finished in third spot which was worth QR 44,700.
Qatar’s Mubarak Yousf Al Rumaihi (4th, Vivaldi K) and Derin Demirsoy (5th, Harry K) completed the top five riders in the 145cm (round against the clock).
In competition six, Turkey’s Demirsoy and Qatar’s Bassem Hassan Mohammed regaled fans with superb rides before the former emerged winner with Bosphorus.
Demirsoy guided Bosphorus with a neat routine to clinch the 135cm class with jump-off. Bosphorus clocked a time of 42.02 seconds as Demirsoy bagged the top prize of QR 9,000.
Bassem, astride Argelith Squid, finished in second spot in a time of 43.55 seconds. The second prize was worth QR 7,200. Alaa Al Sultan finished third with Narwick Rouge in a time of 47.85 seconds. Abdulrahman Alhamazni (4th, Zjuliana Fairy V) and Ali Al Khorafi (5th, Ungarin 4) completed the top five riders. In competition five, Qatar’s Saeed Al Qadi lifted the home spirits by guiding Jessico 4 to hard-fought a win. Jessico clocked a time of 28.30 seconds in the 120cm class (jump-off).
Ali Al Khorafi finished second with Vlacido to claim the prize of QR 4,500. Al Qadi had picked up the top prize of QR 5,625. Saudi rider Khaled Almobty sealed a third-place finish with Aloha who clocked a time of 29.10 seconds. Almobty won QR 3,375. Qatari duo of Nasser Al Ghazali (4th, Evina) and jaber Rashid Al Amri (5th, What A Lady Van De Smis) completed the top five riders in a field of 32 contestants.
In competition four, Saudi rider Nasser Albagami emerged easy winner with Codina Z to bag the top honours in what was the day’s first contest. Codina Z clocked a time of 31.22 seconds.
Saudi rider HRH Prince Mansour Alsaud guided Unta Z to second spot in a time of 33.25 seconds in the 120cm class. Qatar trio of Abdulaziz Ahmed Al Muhannadi, Hussain Haidan and Khalid Hamad Al Attiyah completed the top five by securing the third, fourth and fifth spots respectively.
Al Muhannadi (Waed Waed) clocked a time of 33.05 seconds whereas Haidan (Boston Van De Rechri) was trifle slower (34.16 seconds). Al Attiya clocked 53.14 seconds with Levicci. The action continues today with four more competitions.
