Doha: General Manager of the Cultural Village Foundation Katara, Prof Dr. Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti, opened yesterday the exhibition “Harmonic Diversity in Art and Culture” by Ghanaian artist William Kwaku Adzrako in the presence of Ambassador of Republic of Ghana to Qatar, H E Dr. Emmanuel Enos, and several ambassadors and heads of diplomatic missions.
The exhibition, which is organised by the Cultural Village Foundation Katara in cooperation with the Embassy of the Republic of Ghana and continues until December 12 in Building 47, includes 21 distinctive paintings: The Golden Cave, The Vision, Mother’s Pride, Final Price, Survival of the Fittest, the Silent Listener, Nostalgia for the unseen Ear.
Commenting on the exhibition, Dr. Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti stressed that Katara opens its doors to creators in various cultural and artistic fields. He added that as it constitutes a cultural edifice and a beacon of creativity and art, Katara welcomes all cultures, expressing his admiration for the exhibition and the high artistic and human values it holds.
He said that this exhibition offers an opportunity to learn about Ghana’s cultural, artistic and civilisational richness, as these exhibitions open windows for cultural communication between nations, considering culture and arts are the best means of rapprochement.
Dr. Emmanuel Enos praised in his speech the efforts of the Katara Cultural Village to make this event a tangible reality.
He said: “The Republic of Ghana has a great history that will allow art lovers, experts, intellectuals and historians to discover the rich historical and cultural heritage of Ghana.”
He stressed that this exhibition will build strong bonds between Qatari and Ghanaian culture as well as with international cultures, which would enhance mutual interests and diplomatic, economic and cultural relations.
