“I announce that I am backing Mr Jean Todt for another full term,” Al Attiyah, a hugely popular figure in FIM, said in a statement released by QMMF yesterday. “Jean Todt is a man of principles and integrity. He has done remarkable well in the time he has spent as FIA President,’ the Qatari added.

“FIA has improved a lot on so many fronts with Jean Todt providing excellent leadership,” Al Attiyah said.
“Jean Todt has provided me with every support on the Cross-Country Commission in the last few years. Through his support we have managed to add five more stops on the Cross-Country calendar, taking our schedule to 10 races next year. We now have double the number of events that we had in 2010 with more efficient calendar in terms of logistics, number of participants and quality and experience member of commissions,” Al Attiyah said.
“That is brilliant progress. There are so many host cities just waiting to get on the Cross-Country calendar,” the Qatari motor sport chief added. “This has been possible due to Jean Todt’s full support to Cross-Country races.” THE PENINSULA
