First Asian Nuts and Dried Fruits Exhibition opens at Souq Waqif

Doha, Qatar: The first Asian Nuts and Dried Fruits Exhibition has opened at Souq Waqif, with the participation of 40 companies from seven countries.

The event which is organised by the Celebrations Committee of the Private Engineering Office will run until March 10, 2025, daily from 7.30pm to 12 midnight.

The exhibition includes a selection of companies from Turkiye, Iran, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, and Pakistan.

These countries were chosen due to their reputation for producing the finest quality nuts and dried fruits that are widely popular with consumers.

The exhibition comes at an ideal time during the holy month of Ramadan, when demand for nuts increases as they are the main ingredients in Ramadan dishes.

The exhibition also coincides with Garangao, a traditional occasion celebrated by families, where nuts are an essential part of the gifts given to children on this special night.

In this context, the General Supervisor of the Exhibition, Khalid Saif Al Suwaidi, said, “We are pleased to launch this first-of-its-kind exhibition, which brings together a group of specialised companies from the most prominent countries producing nuts and dried fruits.”

He added,. “We chose this timing due to the increasing demand for these products during the holy month of Ramadan, in addition to their association with traditional occasions such as Garangao Night. We look forward to welcoming visitors to Souq Waqif, which provides an ideal Ramadan atmosphere enhances the shopping experience and enjoyment of these unique products.”

For his part, Al Suwaidi invited the public to visit the exhibition and enjoy an exceptional shopping experience.

“We invite everyone to come and take advantage of this unique opportunity to discover a wide range of nuts and dried fruits brought to you by the best producers in the world,” he said.

“The exhibition offers a unique experience that combines quality and diversity, and we look forward to welcoming visitors to Souq Waqif to enjoy the Ramadan atmosphere and shop in a distinctive heritage atmosphere.”
