Doha: The General Authority of Customs at Hamad International Airport (HIA) thwarted an attempt to smuggle narcotic pills into the country.
In a post on Twitter, customs shared a photo of the banned pills which were found hidden among clothes inside the passenger's bag. It said that 130 pregabalin capsules were found in the bag.
The authorities have been issuing continuous warnings against carrying illegal substances into the country.
Customs officers are provided with all means of support including the latest devices and continuous training to read the body language of passengers and be aware of the latest methods followed by smugglers.
