The Ministry of Culture has launched a new initiative ’Reading Space’, in cooperation with Qatar Reads, an initiative of the Qatar Foundation for Education, Science, and Community Development.
The initiative, organised by the Ministry’s Libraries Department in Lagoona Mall, is scheduled to continue until February 22, 2022.
The Director of the Libraries Department at the Ministry of Culture, Jassim Al Buainain, said the initiative is being held within the framework of keenness to strengthen the community of young readers and their families.
This comes within a series of partnerships that are held between the Ministry of Culture and Qatar Reads, pointing out that the initiative is scheduled to circulate in several different places during the coming period, where coordination will be made with several authorities, such as public parks, complexes, and various tourist places.
Many surprises await the children and their families visiting this cultural forum, he said. He also noted that there is a great variety in the books available in the reading space, which target all segments of society. Through its cooperation with the Department of Libraries in the Ministry of Culture, Qatar Reads aims to raise the habit of reading nationwide in a comprehensive, attractive and appropriate manner, showing new ways of seeing the world from different perspectives.
