DOHA: Aspire Zone Foundation continued to attract thousands of visitors to its Khalifa International Stadium Fan Zone, organised in collaboration with the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy, with more than 40,000 football fans from all over Qatar attending since the Fan Zone opened last Friday.
Crucial matches between Brazil and Serbia, Argentina and Nigeria in addition to Tunisia and Panama, saw the highest number of attendees during the second week of the tournament, as the Fan Zone welcomed locals and expatriates in Qatar.
Prominent presence from the Ambassadors of Germany, Tunisia and Panama along with representatives of Umm Salal SC.
On the second week, the Khalifa International Stadium Fan Zone also attracted a number of dignitaries, including Sheikh Tamim bin Mohammed Al Thani, Vice President of Umm Salal Sports Club, Hans-Udo Muzel, the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany, Salah Al Salhi, the Ambassador of the Republic of Tunisia to the State of Qatar, and Oreste Del Rio Sandoval, the Ambassador of the Republic of Panama to the State of Qatar.
On the sidelines of the Argentina vs Nigeria match, Sheikh Tamim bin Mohammed Al Thani, Vice President of Umm Salal Sports Club, said: “I’d like to extend my thanks to the organising committee for the great efforts they put in to make the Khalifa International Stadium a big success, as testified by the large number of attendees on a daily basis, which makes it one of the most fun places in Qatar from which to watch the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia matches.”
Meanwhile, Hans-Udo Muzel, the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany, said: “I’d like to extend my thanks to Aspire Zone Foundation for organising this great Fan Zone in Khalifa International Stadium. It’s great to see so many people here watching and enjoying football, because sport brings people together. I look forward to the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar.”
Salah Al Salhi, the Ambassador of the Republic of Tunisia to the State of Qatar praised the organising committee for the success of the Khalifa International Stadium Fan Zone, and extended his wishes to see Arab teams perform better at the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar tournament.
Salhi was accompanied by Oreste Del Rio Sandoval, the Ambassador of the Republic of Panama to the State of Qatar for the Tunisia vs Panama match. Speaking from the sidelines, Sandoval remarked: “The Khalifa International Stadium Fan Zone is really great, thanks to Aspire Zone Foundation for organising it.”
Commenting on his country’s performance at the tournament, Sandoval added: “This is Panama’s first FIFA World Cup participation, and it has been a tremendous experience which will benefit us at upcoming tournaments.”
Aspire Zone Foundation has also launched the ‘Aspire Fan Zone Photography Competition’. The competition will run until the end of the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia tournament on July 15. Entrants can compete at the Competition by posting their photos on Instagram under the hashtag #AspireFanZone.
Winners will receive valuable prizes from the Khalifa International Stadium Fan Zone’s sponsors and organisers, including a chance to enjoy the tournament’s final matches from one of the Majlis seats free of charge.
Updated prices for Majlis and VIP Skyboxes booking at the Khalifa International Stadium starting from June 30. One of the key features of Fan Zone is the capacity to host thousands of football fans daily. Due to the growing number of fans attending, Aspire Zone Foundation has extended the number of spectator seats to more than 5,000 seats for football fans, organised in a variety of options.
Fans looking to watch the games in a more private setting can choose from 16 VIP skyboxes at an updated price of QR1,500 each from June 30 until July 14 and at a cost of QR2,000 on the final day of the tournament on July 15.
Fans can also choose from 24 Majlis with authentic designs inspired by Qatari culture, at an updated cost of QR650 each from June 30 until July 14 and a cost of QR1,000 on the final day of the tournament on July 15.
